ELM ELECTROMONTAJ CLUJ SA has recently completed the works under the 400 kV București Sud – Pelicanu overhead line project. For the National Power System (SEN), this line is a major artery for transmitting the electricity produced by the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant as well as by the wind farms in Dobrogea.
Rehabilitation works were carried out under the project in order to increase operational safety (works on the tower foundations, the earthing electrodes, the earth-wire conductors, access roads, aligning the overhead-line route with the objects it crosses over, etc.).
This contract was strewn with many challenges, which made the smooth running of the works difficult. There were unforeseen situations, such as interruptions to the work front as well as frequent changes of execution solutions and, not least, the instability of the political and economic context throughout the project.
By mobilising its teams, ELM managed to finalise the works on schedule and to meet all the required standards. It was a collective effort that deserves recognition, which is why we congratulate all the colleagues involved!
